An API (application programming interface) is a way for two pieces of software to talk to each other directly. A shipping API lets your own systems, such as a custom store, an ERP or a warehouse tool, ask for quotes, book shipments and get tracking without anyone clicking through a screen.
What Tranzit Group Australia's API does
You can quote, book and track programmatically with Tranzit Group Australia's REST API, and use webhooks so your system hears about changes instead of having to keep asking.
Do you need it?
Probably not if you sell on Shopify, WooCommerce, eBay, Squarespace, Shopline or Etsy. Those integrations already import orders and send tracking back. The API is for businesses with their own platform or internal systems that need shipping built in.
Keeping it safe
- Keep API credentials confidential, the same as a password.
- Use the API only for what you've been authorised to do, and within its technical limits.
- Follow the API documentation provided to you.
- If you think credentials have been exposed, email info@tranzitgroup.com.au straight away.
The rules in full
API use is covered in Terms section 40, and how we protect connected credentials is on Trust and security.
