Most of the time spent on shipping isn't packing. It's admin: copying addresses into courier websites, comparing prices, printing labels one by one and pasting tracking numbers back into each order. Shipping automation is software that does those jobs for you, so the only manual step left is the parcel itself.
What gets automated
- Order import. Orders from your store appear in one place, ready to ship, as soon as they're placed.
- Courier choice. Shipping rules pick the courier and service for each order, based on things like postcode, weight or order source.
- Labels and paperwork. Labels, manifests and packing slips print for a whole batch in one run.
- Tracking. Tracking numbers write back to your store, orders are marked fulfilled and customers get updates by SMS and email.
What it doesn't do
Automation doesn't carry parcels. Tranzit Group Australia is the software layer: quotes, bookings, labels, tracking and notifications. The couriers pick up and deliver, and their own terms apply to that transport. Someone still has to pack each order properly and attach the right label.
Where to start
- 1Connect your store under Ecommerce Integrations so orders import automatically.
- 2Connect your courier accounts under Courier Integrations, or use our courier services.
- 3Write two or three shipping rules that cover most of your orders.
- 4Print your next batch of labels in one run and check tracking went back to your store.
Start with the orders you ship most
You don't need a rule for every case on day one. Cover the common orders first and handle the odd ones by hand with Get Quote. What are shipping rules? goes into more detail.
