Even with the best packing, parcels sometimes go missing or arrive damaged. The quicker you act, the better your claim's chances, because couriers set deadlines. Here's what to do, step by step.
First, who does what
Tranzit Group Australia is the shipping software: quotes, bookings, labels and tracking. The courier picks up, carries and delivers your parcel, and its own terms apply to that transport, including claims. You supply accurate details, pack the goods properly and report problems promptly.
What to do
- 1Tell us as soon as you can. Email info@tranzitgroup.com.au with the tracking number. Courier claim deadlines apply.
- 2Keep the parcel and its packaging. A claim may need photos of both.
- 3Gather the evidence: the tracking number, photos and proof of the damage, proof of value (purchase and sales invoices), proof of adequate packaging and a description of the goods.
- 4Where appropriate, we help you submit and manage the claim with the courier.
- 5The courier assesses it under its own terms, transit cover, time limits, exclusions and compensation limits.
Is my parcel insured?
Not automatically. Where transit cover is offered, it has its own terms, limits and eligibility rules, which can depend on the courier, the goods, their declared value and the destination.
What if it's just late?
Delivery dates are estimates unless a service is described as guaranteed. Weather, peak periods, road closures and wrong addresses can all slow a parcel down, and tracking only updates when the courier scans it. If a parcel hasn't moved for longer than you'd expect, email us the tracking number and we'll follow it up with the courier.
If you shipped on your own courier account
Your agreement with that courier governs the transport and any claim on it. Let us know anyway, and we'll give you the shipment and tracking details the claim needs. The full picture is on Shipping protection and claims.
