A late parcel is frustrating for you and your customer. Some delays are out of everyone's hands; others start before the parcel leaves your door.
Common causes
- Severe weather, natural disasters and road closures.
- Network congestion and peak trading periods.
- Incorrect or incomplete addresses.
- Industrial action, government restrictions and other operational events.
- A missed pickup: collection times are estimates too.
What you can prevent
- Check addresses before you print. How to fix address errors shows how.
- Pack goods properly. Poor packaging can lead to damage, rejection and delay.
- Have parcels packed, labelled, accessible and ready at the collection point.
- Keep a second courier connected as a backup for busy periods.
Why tracking can look stuck
Tracking only updates when the courier scans the parcel, so a quiet day or two doesn't always mean a problem.
What to do when a parcel is late
- 1Check the tracking page for the latest scan.
- 2If it hasn't moved for longer than you'd expect, email info@tranzitgroup.com.au with the tracking number.
- 3We follow it up with the courier and keep you posted.
- 4If it turns out to be lost, see Lost or damaged parcel?.
